Christmas with The Stylist's Guide | Styling Tips + Online Store

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at The Stylist’s Guide HQ, which means our online store has been stocked with Christmas goodies and our calendars are packed full of festive events!

For those of you that know our creative director, you’ll also know that Christmas is her favourite time of year. Here at The Stylist’s Guide we love celebrating through styling, decorating and creating unforgettable occasions. After all, who doesn’t love Christmas?

Gone are the days of tacky tinsel, nativity scenes and napkins folded into Christmas trees - we’re all about using a traditional pop of colour, mixed in with modern styling that can take your event from drab to fab.

Here’s our top tips for styling up your Christmas table this festive season!

  • When it comes to styling a Christmas setting, we like to keep some traditional elements. We find using a pop of a Christmas colour, be it red, green or gold, can transform the table into a festive affair. This can be in anything from the napkins, to the swizzle sticks, or flowers on the table.

Hot tip: To make even more a statement, why not mix a few festive colours together to create a fun yet classic vibe! For example, instead of choosing just one colour, mix red, green and gold elements into your table scape to wow your guests

  • For a little more of a modern touch, our creative director Alyse loves to spray paint greenery, to create a cohesive, contemporary look. It’s the perfect DIY project that allows you to get creative, while creating a stunning centerpiece!

Hot tip: grab some tropical leaves, spray paint them gold and mix in with some lush greenery and white flowers. You really can’t go wrong!

  • Lastly, arguably the best part of Christmas is that everything is in abundance! From the food, to the presents and of course, the love - everything about Christmas is plentiful. Making your table setting full, and abundant with elements that make your guests smile is key to nailing your table styling for the most wonderful time of the year. We like to use flowers, napkins, gifts and finer details like swizzle sticks, bon bons and place settings to fill the table and create that bountiful feeling.

Hot tip: Pick elements that are special to you, your guests and your own Christmas traditions.
