Cimon & Vince | European Inspired Engagement Party
Hello! Or should we say Ciao... we're off on holidays from August 27th - October 8th. What better way to say bon voyage for our trip to Europe than with a little bit of event reminiscing - in particular, one inspired by our Italian heritage.
One of our favourite jobs this year would have to be styling, organising, managing and executing our sister's engagement party. When Cimon got engaged, we jumped at the opportunity to be her wedding planner... then she asked our Director Alyse to be her maid of honour, and there you have it. It's safe to say our hands were full!
It is always an honour to be part of so many people's events but when your family and friends ask you to be part of it in such a small way, its a wonderful feeling. Especially because you know that they trust you and they have left it all in your hands! - Director, Alyse
Being a beautiful celebration of love mixed in with the Italian heritage of our Bride and Groom to be, Pizzateca in McLaren Vale was an easy choice for the venue. To top it right off, Italian inspired food and drinks were served throughout the night, including an Italian style grazing table, tomato cans, wine, prosecco, aperol, limoncello and of course, pizza!
Pizzateca has an amazing atmosphere and vibe about it, which meant that when it came to styling we wanted to keep it very simple and not take away from the venue. When it came to choosing the flowers, it wasn't hard at all. Cimon loves natives so we wanted to include another one of her favourite things.
Cimon and Vince have been together for 14 years, something special we wanted to showcase at the event. We created a space where people could admire the past 14 years with a "photowall", pegging over 100 photos onto a large mesh wall, along with some florals and a personalised sign. This gorgeous little shrine also acted as a backdrop for guests to have photos throughout the night.
Our favourite part of the night was transforming Pizzateca's Ape Piaggio into one of our famous drink stations! We took a step back in time and went down the old roads of Italy, using the levels of the car to stack drinks, fit with an Aperol station to boot. Not only did this make it easy for everyone to grab drinks at their own pace (whether skulling or sipping), it created a beautiful feature in the middle of the courtyard space.
Overall we had a theme to follow - rustic chic with a huge touch of Italian tradition, where the decor just followed through. Everyone sang 'that's amore' all night long, and it was night filled with a whole lotta love. This will definitely go down as one of our favourite jobs!
