Modern Romance with The Stylist's Guide
Definition – Styled Shoot: A styled shoot is a staged wedding or event that provides various creatives and suppliers the opportunity to showcase their work and present ideas to prospective clients.
Styled by our talented team at The Stylist's Guide and shot by up-and-coming photographer Siana Siliquini, this styled shoot was inspired by opulent Italian styling x old Hollywood glamour - featuring rich textures such as velvet and ribbed candles, vintage Italian crockery, bold coloured stationery and florals.
Ruby Red Flamingo, one of Adelaide's most iconic Italian restaurants, featured as an iconic backdrop for the shoot the eclectic interior paired perfectly with the rich, moody tones of each tablescape.
From the outset, we knew that we wanted this shoot to be epic. To push new ideas and styles while bringing through touches of vintage glam, all with our own TSG twist!
OUR PROCESS
First on the agenda was creating the mood board (essentially an event’s bible, a place to continually reference and add inspo to). We began with the colour palette, which set the tone for the overall theming, as it determines the direction for the rest of the styling elements.
Bright pinks, bold reds and deep purples were our picks, as we expect to see these three colours in focus for 2024 wedding trends.
From here, we dove deeper in to our research, drawing inspiration from fashion campaigns to Pinterest and social media, as well as the hours of conversations amongst our team to ensure we nailed the over the top opulence we were going for.
Next it was time to build an abundance of textures - the key element to creating an opulent tablescape. We began with a crushed velvet tablecloth and built from there, with oh so many candles, patterned crockery, bright stationary and adding bows to the glassware. We always knew that we wanted to incorporate bows, (a trend that is set to blow up in the coming months), which was the final piece to our styling puzzle!
Final Thoughts
Pulling together a styled shoot is a lot like a pulling together a micro wedding, thankfully this is where we flourish and we are fortunate enough to work with incredible suppliers who absolutely nailed our brief! Styling this shoot allowed us to showcase how you can incorporate modern trends, but still make them your own.
By pulling different ideas and inspiration together, we were able to create something unique, that is on trend but will definitely last the test of time!
There was never a doubt that the team of vendors that we reached out to would take our mood board vision and run with it in the very best ways, adding their own flare to the existing layers of ideas. The result was nothing short of spectacular, if we do say so ourselves.
