How to choose the perfect wedding venue
When it comes to planning your wedding, there are some decisions that are simple ‘no brainers’ and some that are a little more difficult.
One of the most important, and sometimes most time consuming decisions to make is choosing a wedding venue.
When clients come to us prior to booking their venue, we run through a list of considerations to factor into their choice. Luckily for you, we’re sharing these with you too!
Here’s how to choose the perfect venue for you…
Location – Do you want to have your ceremony and reception in the same space? Does the venue you are considering offer this option?
If your ceremony is at a separate location, is the distance between this and the reception space feasible for yourself and guests?
If you are looking at a remote location, what are the logistics that surround this for the wedding party, guests and suppliers?
Size – In the instance of a wedding venue, size does actually matter! What are your guest numbers? Does the venue accommodate this? If you have to increase numbers, is this possible. Or, are you willing to reduce your guest list to suit the venue size?
Your Style & the Venue Style – Every wedding venue offers a unique style – does the space suit yours? A venue has to feel like the right fit for not only your added styling elements, but for you both as a couple.
Availability – Depending on your desired time of year to wed, popular venues often have their peak season dates snapped up very quickly, sometimes years in advance.
Consider how important the time of year is to you both and if you love the venue enough to wait, if needed. Or, are you open to an alternate date or even day of the week to make it work?
Budget and Inclusions – Often the biggest factor in making a venue selection is a couple’s budget and rightly so. Be sure to have a clear understanding of your limitations and what the venue includes for their costs.

It is also great to have an overall idea of your total budget to know that if you do want to add in additional items to create the space of your dreams that there is an allocation for this.
