2023 Event Wrap Up
At The Stylist’s Guide, we consider ourselves lucky to not only have what we think is the best job in the world, but we get to share in the joy that our clients experience when they see their event before their eyes!
The past 12 months has been jam-packed for us with christenings, birthday’s, weddings, intimate dinners, corporate events, photo shoots and activations.
Not to mention our styled shoots that saw us have the opportunity to flex our creative muscles in a way that is wholly ours. We couldn’t possibly pick a favourite from La Dolce Vita, or Bonne nuit, je t’aime.
We’re spoilt for choice when we look over the year that was for us, but if we had to pick, what would be in our favourites folder from 2023?
Alyse
Event: Carla & Luke’s Wedding
Location: EOS at SkyCity
Why it’s my favourite this year: Not only was this my favourite event of the year because it was out of this world stunning!! But it was one that our entire team got to work on together for the event set-up. We all got to see the hours upon hours that went in to styling, planning and coordinating come to life and it was truly beautiful!
Favourite styling element: Everything! I loved the grandeur of Carla & Luke’s wedding in every single element. The white florals, the ghost Chiavari chairs, the clusters and clusters of candles and the centerpiece that was that Venue Productions chandelier!
Arija
Event: Isabelle’s Baptism & 1st Birthday
Location: Lombra
Why it’s my favourite this year: I don’t think I could fault this event. From the venue to the stationary (which I am still obsessed with), to the stunning flowers, amazing backdrop that we had custom made and the wow-factor balloon garland, every single piece came together impeccably! If we had to go back and re-do this one, I honestly wouldn’t change a thing!
Favourite styling element: The cake meadow – the ring of flowers that sat around the perfect Little Lil’s Cakery cake!
Alana
Event: Elixr Skin Fitness – Let’s Get Intimate
Location: EOS at SkyCity
Why it’s my favourite this year: I loved that this event was nothing like any other corporate or informational event before it. From the outset with the beautiful colour palette, I knew we would be having fun pulling together the design.
Favourite styling element: The mix of lounge seating with cocktail tables and seating (in the gorgeous retro designs from Modern Party) were perfection!
Alexia
Event: Shirly & Chen’s Wedding
Location: Sequoia Lodge
Why it’s my favourite this year: Shirly & Chen’s wedding showed that an intimate wedding can be just as impactful and beautiful as a large scale wedding.
Favourite styling element: The florals and the Hanoi chairs that we brought into the space. The florals speak for themselves (I still think about them!) and the chairs tied in perfectly with the wood paneling of the room and brought the whimsical feel that the couple was looking for, yet it was still elevated as the venue deserves.
Biagio
Event: Boffo Annual Awards Night
Location: EOS at SkyCity
Why it’s my favourite this year: Everyone loves a theme and old school Vegas is a hard one to beat! The team executed it to the client’s request: classic, moody and just enough ‘bling’.
Favourite styling element: The gold JAKS backdrop with the OTT balloon garland and Vegas style signage…. + the Elvis impersonator on entry!
Cimon
Event: La Dolce Vita (Styled Shoot)
Location: Ruby Red Flamingo
Why it’s my favourite this year: As soon as I saw the mood board for this shoot I knew it was going to be incredible! I loved being able to draw on old Hollywood glamour when selecting pieces for the models to wear and really have some fun!
Favourite styling element: It would have to be the crushed velvet used across the shoot, the monogrammed linen or the mixed ribbed candles. I can’t decide!
Of course, these are only a selection of some of our favourite events. If we could, we would list them all and the details that made them epic!
Now, we look towards 2024 and all of the magic we get to create. We’re manifesting big things for us, our clients and our suppliers. We can’t wait!
