The importance of lighting in event design
Lighting: one of the most overlooked elements that definitely should not be overlooked when it comes to styling your events!
Lighting is a powerful tool for manipulating the mood and feel of your event for both small and large-scale celebrations. It is also one of the most noticeable visual impacts.
When assessing a prospective venue for your event, we always advise clients to consider the mood they wish to set and how they want their guests to feel.
For example, if you are hosting a milestone birthday and want an all-out party, then a space that can accommodate party lights or a disco ball might fit the bill.
Should you be celebrating an intimate engagement, a venue that can have dimmed lighting with the addition of candles (you know us, the more the better!), is a great way to go.
Your lighting choices should always compliment rather than contradict your styling so that all elements flow together seamlessly.
Lighting can also help either fill a space, or make a space appear larger than it is.
If you don’t want to load up on traditional elements such as florals or balloons to dress your venue, lighting can help hit your styling target too.
Another great way to add lighting to a space, whether that is vibrant or subdued is through table lamps. These not only fill space physically but can cast the right shadows that in turn support your overall vibe.
