Our Dream Team - Part One
We couldn't create the amazing events that we create without the contribution and support from some incredible South Australian teams and businesses. On this week’s blog, we showcase (in three parts) these amazing humans working behind the scenes to make The Stylist’s Guide events come to life. We sat down with Cassandra Mamone, Ilario Fazzalari and Tess Carbone for a quick Q&A about what it’s like to work with us over here at The Stylist’s Guide and why they love what they do.
CASSANDRA MAMONE
A bundle of energy with a beautiful smile, Cass is a very close friend of The Stylist’s Guide and is a talented jewellery designer with desire to create timeless pieces that will be forever cherished, by her clients. Read on for our Q&A with Cassandra…
What do you love most about working with The Stylist's Guide?
Given the pre-existing relationship between Alyse and I, it has been such an effortless transition for the CM team to work cohesively with The Stylist’s Guide team, bouncing ideas off of one another and sharing a common vision. There is a level of respect, understanding, and of course, a vested interest in supporting another female-run business - especially in Adelaide. There is never a doubt or question when working on an event or shoot with The Stylist’s Guide. Everything is beyond perfect each and every time!
What is the most important thing that every couple should consider when choosing their engagement rings?
There are so many aspects to consider when you are choosing an engagement ring for your significant other. More often than not, the client who is proposing has a general idea or vision for the ideal design outcome, which is always helpful. But we also work with each client to ensure they receive diamond education, which includes how we source our diamonds, and the steps we take to ensure it is of the highest quality. This, in our eyes, is the most important thing every couple should know. We also like to know finer details about the wearer that will enable us to really define the look and style best suited to their personality. If you cannot find what you're looking for, do not think for a second that it cannot be designed and made into a work of art for your finger! Anything you envision, we can create.
ILARIO FAZZ
Ilario has quickly become one of the most sought-after MCs in the industry. We love working with him as much as clients do too! Always a class act, he offers a considered, premium experience that is tailored to suit your particular occasion. With a smile on his face, we had a chat about who he loves his job.
What is your favourite event that you have worked on with The Stylist's Guide?
Every event I have worked on with The Stylist’s Guide has been amazing, but one that stands out is definitely the wedding of Marianne & Alessio at Sunnybrae. It was a ROMANTIC ITALIAN WEDDING. The Bride & Groom wanted to create a traditional Italian Wedding, just like something form their Italian roots… The Stylist’s Guide definitely delivered on the theme. It was so beautiful, made me want to book a one-way ticket to Positano.
What do you think people should keep in mind when choosing an MC for their event?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ensure that when you book an MC that you know exactly who you are booking and who will be there on the night. It is so important to know who is showing up on your wedding day. I have heard of so many stories where the Bride and Groom have booked an “MC” through an agency thinking they were getting a particular “MC” only to have someone else show up on the night and they have been so disappointed. It is so important to ensure that you vibe with the MC, you like their style, their look and that they are also able to connect with your guests.
Best thing about your job and why?
The ability to have a positive effect on people and add something special to one of the most memorable days of their lives… When the parents of both the Bride & Groom tell you at the end of the evening that you have made their night that extra special, it just puts that extra bit of smile on my already smiling face…
TESS CARBONE
Tess is a renowned Beauty and Makeup industry professional with 12 years of experience both working and teaching as a makeup artist. Tess is beautiful from the inside and out, she has such a calming nature about her, making anyone that sits in that makeup chair of hers feel so comfortable.
What do you love most about working with The Stylist's Guide?
After working with The Stylist’s Guide for many years , I have always appreciated their professionalism and attention to detail. Alyse always makes herself available to help in anyway and treats vendors and creatives with the utmost respect. I truly believe that there is no other event styling business that offers such a wide and varied list of services – adapting to each individual client and their needs. Being in a service provider industry, it’s imperative that you make every dollar count for your customer and The Stylist’s Guide team are leaders in this!
What should people keep in mind when choosing a make-up artist for their event? and why?
Its important to book a makeup artist based on a few important things. Firstly, word of mouth is so valuable as trusted feedback from friends or family is truly honest!
Secondly, it is important to look at a makeup artist’s work via social media or a website. Every makeup artist has their own style of makeup and this will be evident in a good range of images or their work. You can evaluate what it is you’re looking for and choose your artist accordingly.
Lastly, its important clients hire a makeup artist with reasonable expectations. Makeup artists are trained to identify and work with the face you present them with, they are not able to make huge physical changes to your facial features or skin!
Note, that pricing also reflects a number of factors that makeup artists have to cover when charging, such as stocking professional quality products, time spent traveling, cleaning, education, and so on! Cheaper is not always better!
