Three ways to personalise your child’s christening

If you’ve been following us for a little while, you would know that one of our all time favourite events to style are children’s parties. We’ve had the most fun this year creating memorable and special christenings. An opportunity to be playful and get truly creative, to celebrate this beautiful milestone whilst getting together with the loved ones in your life.

The Stylists Guide understands that christenings can be tedious to plan, especially when trying to entice your little one to enjoy the day. Whether you plan to have an event or something a little more intimate, the day should be filled with laughter and joy. To help make your planning a little bit easier, below we have included our top 3 ideas on how to organise your unique christening. This is the time when your friends and family come together and celebrate your child’s special day. To make sure you have a stress-free, but most importantly fun and unforgettable day to look back on.

COLOURS

Colours are able to completely transform an environment and make the setting more personalised to cater to your event. To make the setting more intimate and family-oriented, select a colour palette that matches the story of the scene. A simple colour story adds a personal touch to the vibrancy of the event. Add elegance to the environment by creating a scene with balloons, flowers, plates and personalised decorations. The simplicity of adding colour, brings joy to a dull room. With so many options and schemes to experiment with, colour and style bring a fresh aura to the room.

CAKES AND DESSERT

By including a cake or personalised cupcakes, this is a great way to gather everyone around for an intimate moment. The children will be distracted by the dessert, so you can share a few words. Whether you select a cake, or personalised cupcakes or cookies, this will add a dimension of style to your event. The dessert provides you access to a moment in the day when you’re wanting to give a quick speech or say a few kind words.

THEME

Advancing from colour stories, a theme is a great way to add uniqueness to your christening. Depending on how old your child is, find out their interests and create a day that they would enjoy. Whether it be an animal theme, or something curated to their gender, a theme would create memories to share for years growing up. Dress up in costumes, whether you match with your little one or add an elegant touch to your outfit, the children would love the inclusion of the special day. Looking back on this special time, the photographs and videos of the special day would be from one of your child’s first interests.
