5 Playlists to get the party started

The music you play at your wedding or event is a key element to setting the perfect mood for your special day and it should not be overlooked. Just as important as the photographer, the table decor, guests list, etc. the music you play at your event will be part of the forever memories created for both you all of your guests.

If you’re creating an event on a budget, then a Spotify playlist is the way to go, and can still give you the feel you want for your special day. Now, although it might be YOUR special day, give consideration to the different age groups and guests that are attending. You can create the perfect playlist to suit almost everyone, without having to compromise your tastes. 

Whether you have your heart set on a live band or a DJ, you might consider having a Spotify playlist prepared as a backup, if there’s one thing we have learnt from working in events, is that you should always have a plan B.

When it comes to event planning (and event attending), we are veterans. Over the years we have had the pleasure to be part of so many special occasions but ones that stand out to us are Special Birthday Celebrations, Engagement Parties, Weddings, Bridal Showers and Hen's Parties and the one thing that these events have in common, is a bangin’ dance floor!

To help make your playlist planning a little easier, we thought we would share what our team and clients listen to at some of our favourite types of events. 

ULTIMATE HENS NIGHT 

This playlist was created by our creative director Alyse, she was responsible for making sure everyone would boogie on down to the dance floor at her sister Cimon’s hens night. Alyse and fellow bridesmaid Deanna made sure every song was a hit, and would ensure that Cimon would be showing off her inner 90’s Ginger Spice. Click HERE to hear the playlist.

AMALFI BRIDAL SHOWER 

Think sun-drenched beaches, Aperol spritz, and day trips on a cute yellow Vespa with your hair flowing freely in the wind. The Amalfi-themed Bridal Shower has been a popular theme recently, and we totally see why, this bright summery vibe takes your guests on a journey to Italy's most stunning coastline. KARAOKE 

With hits from ABBA to Whitney, this playlist is choc-full of classics that we all struggle to sing along to, but put a microphone in front of us, a room full of smoke machines and several bottles of champagne, and we will be reaching those high notes like there is no tomorrow. This playlist isn’t just great for Karaoke, it’s also a great all-rounder playlist that will please all ages and still get the dancefloor going. SUNDAY SESSION
This playlist is a throwback to the early ’00s and is a chilled-out vibe that’s perfect for the morning after a wild and late-night party. From Ne-Yo to Yonce, this playlist has some ballads and low key bangers that will get you and the crew harmonising along. We also like to listen to this playlist at work. Listen along HERE.

BACON BEATS

Two of our clients, Patricia & Georgia who are long-time friends are huge Katie Ryan fans, they created this playlist to hype each other up. Designed to hype you up when cleaning your house, get you through long car rides with the girls, a late-night gym sesh, or when it’s 1 am and you feel like you are a superstar after about 8 gins.
